Curiosity got the better of me this morning. The first map works perfectly, I think it's main purpose is a bus route so it's a nice freshly laid strip of road which was completely empty at rush hour. The second one wouldn't work exactly how you've mapped it but it is possible to exit Ingress Park via a path at the end of Reed Court which takes you onto Lovers Lane and back up to London Road, Lovers Lane was fenced off where these two paths meet so it wasn't possible to follow it down to the river.
