Just took the road bike out for a shakedown commute to work, it hasn't seen tarmac since april/may last year.
Felt good and fast, but that could be because it was my first commute of the week.
Looking good for tomorrow... -

My bike is still at my LBS. I can't think of a better way to test it (and it's slammed stem). But still not 100% I can make this.

this looks fun. I haven't been on a bike for loooong time though.
Considering it. It will be a bit like the olden times :)Edit: Just remembered, going to the ROH tomorrow. Maybe next time

Ah that's a shame, would have made it a real OG TNRC. Hope you can make a few this year.

I think we will all be getting on the one train this time. For future rides, if we need to split train groups, the mysterious controller or his (or her) delegate will put a list up on the day of travel. Would be helpful if the rideouts declare themselves but really sudden decreases in train numbers are easier to deal with than sudden increases.

Yes - I'm mildly gutted, especially as this is my favourite (read: brutal) route.

Hoping the wind is behind us for the final roll downhill to the station. Was against us on Saturday and spoilt some brilliant fresh black top on what used to be a pig of a stretch

Have any of you ever had one of those anxiety dreams where you are back in school, about to walk into a very important exam, and you realise that, not only have you not done enough revision, but that you didn't actually go to any of the lessons at all, and that you really only have the sketchiest idea of what the subject is anyway?

felt strong and fast on the road bike on the commute yesterday, but put that down to it being the first commute of the week, doing no riding over the weekend and there not being a headwind at all..
I do not foresee me feeling strong on the hills..
See you all at t'rain station... -

Just out of the shower and munched through a tin of cold beans. Was a great ride. Felt stronger than was expecting. Great to see Mat and jonny disappearing off into the distance on fixed gears. Two human bumble bees.
Great ride Corny and really enjoyed meeting and riding with Russell and Jim who put in epic mileage. Quality train ride bants as well.
i am not going to be able to make this one but keen for the next.
