    Can't get my head round Seiko being a premium brand when you can buy it in your local branch of Argos . (i do understand the difference in movement - but anything with a Logo has a premium added) and you buy a pimp watch like a rolex or JLC for the investment value too right? the second hand prices for spring drives are 50% off retail it seems, whereas my boss bought a brand new daytona last year and it's worth £500 more than he paid for it already?

    I'm not that concerned about resale - I would not be intending on ever selling it, maintenance costs would be something I'd like to understand however.

    Beyond that, if it's possible to make a direct judgement and leaving brand out of it, which is the better watch - the Rolex Explorer or the GS GMT that has been pictured a few times now?

  • I prefer the Rolex and dare I say it probably easier to service? but my knowledge of springs drives is poor so just a guess
