This is my commute route and whilst I'm not sure if either of your sections work the way I take to avoid that stretch of road is to turn left on the roundabout onto Station Road then right onto Eagles Road and right again onto the Avenue, this joins back onto the main road by the petrol station. I don't think it's worth going into Ingress Park as it's a bit of a dead end and I think you'll have to double back on yourself in order to return to the main road.
