Hmm, I don't see what would prevent it from working: 9sp cassettes are slightly wider than 10sp, so the range of movement might be ok.
I assume you're referring to a Shimano dérailleur.

I'd be suprised if it does work. The sprocket pitch of the cassettes is different and the cable pull ratio of the shifters is different - shimano changed this when they went 11 speed.

Ah, I didn't know the pull ratio changed with 11sp. Probably won't work then. A 105 11sp dérailleur can't be too expensive though?

Cable pull ratio is a complete bummer. No more getting 7700 DA to work with anything after 11 speed darkened my door!

105 11 speed rear are cheap as chips but heavy.

If you want to use a 9 speed cassette It only works with Campagnolo 11 shifters...
As above - can it be made to work ??
