I appreciate these are new, but generally how do you keep gumwalls clean? I've got some paselas on my genesis and the rear is pretty much uniformly black. I fear the answer is going to be as boring as 'clean them after every ride' but hoping for a magic solution, ideally featuring magnets.

Ride with disc.
I kept them clean by using that Genesis as a summer bike.
Disc brakes have a great effect on keeping the sidewall clean.

very good. you even need the gaston (tm) seatpost with risers?! and the starfish were beyond salvageability that you decided to butcher them?
i stripped he pedal thread of one once after a drunken bunny hop with a hastily inserted pedal not fully tightened. i chucked the pair because the other side had already a large gauge on the arm.
one day, i will have a nice fillet brazed track bike tout mavic including starfishies... -

very nice.. are the stays tapered too?
regarding the stem, get "le manfriend" as you put it to hacksawing indeed. do it carefully but should work.

you have any plans on recreating a fitting paintscheme? any close up of panthos for the crowd to drool on? many thanks in advance!

Not sure...there's very little info. It tapers towards the BB and HT I believe. I could measure, if you must know, but I've no idea what size a "normal" 531C stay is like :)

Oops, turned out I need a V1 instead of a V2,
anyone got a v1 octalink british thread, 68 shell, 109.5mm wide bottom bracket, by any chance? This is for some dura-ace fc-7701/7703 cranks

Is it called WD40 in Italy? I can never find WD40 or GT85 in Italy or Germany when we need to give the chain a spray. All the ones we can find are oily and we end up with black messy chains when packing the bikes to come home. One year they were so bad I split them off and dumped the chains.
-

You don't use WD40/GT85 on chains.
black messy chains = too much lubication.

yeah this and surprising lack of spacers!
One would argue that the longer stem give the illusion of having less spacer, I rather compromise with the 54cm instead of getting a 56cm and run a shorter & slammed stem.
Might do. I'll have a look later today.
