Does anyone own a Canyon?

  • I have a 2010 as well. Came from Canyon with a special panheaded nut. They must have some in stock.

  • Yes you can claw back with lighter wheels/tyres/latex tubes.
    I've had both; I prefer Di2.

  • Cool, thank you.

  • Mrs T-V just bought a Canyon Endurance CF. I'm looking forward to seeing it.

  • Finally pulled the plug and have ordered the canyon ultimate cf slx. Question: how easy are they to set up when they arrive in the box? Is there much to do? I'm terrible at putting any together so didn't want to fuck a pretty expensive bike up...

  • Pretty simple, just add your wheels, seatpost and handlebars and you're good to go.

If you are worried then you can always take it to the shop, but all the bits are pretty much setup from Canyon before they ship the bike to you and it packaged quite tidy in their box.

  • If you feel you're terrible at installing the bike, take it to a LBS and ask them to do a basic inspection, usually £25-45 max, including checking all the bolt is tighten, wheel trued, gear indexed etc.

  • ^ Ok sure, thanks very much both.

  • Anyone used the Aerocockpit bar / stem combo? Just seen that it has a space for the Di2 box which is a massive plus point for me and I've always had a soft spot for integrated cockpits. God knows when it'll be available though.

  • A pal of mine from the US is coming over and considering buying a Canyon while over here. He is specifically aeroad? Does anyone have one? Are they liked?

  • Angry Asian over at BikeRadar did a review of them and liked it .. Have you checked the availability?

  • I have not. I'll take a look. Unfortunately not for me though, for a richer pal.

  • Yeah good luck with that - usually a bazillion week wait for their frames/bikes

  • I dont understand those with this opinion. They've made it incredibly easy to find out what exactly they have in stock in their 'express bikes' areas. These bikes are ready to ship immediately. They listened to their customers and sorted it out:

That said if you're a taller/shorter rider I don't understand anyone who doesn't only buy through the outlet.

There are lots of options available to go today.

  • I think the Navajo or was it the Apache used to own a canyon...

  • They always have sexy TT bikes in my size in the outlet. They're trolling me.

  • Yes, I was looking at their none-sloping road bikes, rather nice, especially the red one, I think the team Kristof rides for uses them, but at £5,000 a pop they can afford to.

  • Anyone have the Ultimate CF in large? If so, how tall are you and what does it ride like?

  • I've got the CF SLX in large. I'm a bit over six foot, with monkey arms. Got them to swap out the stem for a 120mm stem and it fits beautifully. A bit longer and lower than my other bikes, but nothing mental - still comfortable.

  • Cool thanks. I think I'm between sizes so might have to choose between large with a shorter stem or medium with spacers / longer stem...

Also does anyone have any experience with Rose? They have a carbon bike with Di2 for under £2k at the moment which seems like madness!

  • I've got the largest Canyon and it's very tall. I'm 6'6'' but I'm thinking of dropping one, maybe two sizes on my next Canyon (probably the new CF SLX).

I race on the Canyon, I've another friend who does more successfully than me. I've another two friends racing on Rose bikes.

It's not about the bike though is it? it's the engine :)

  • The engine's a two stroke, just want to make sure it fits the chassis!
