  • remember to nodder-up tomorrow - if you get clattered by a motor it's your fault, innit.

  • Serotta spotted commuting in New X Gate; these are the end times.

  • ^^ that's Norn Iron not London

  • is it? ah well. fuckem then.

  • I'm getting more noddery every year. Can hardly find the bike these days under the rear rack, lock, pump, bottle, lights, guards and so on.

  • Commuting section of Bikeradar >>>>>>>>>>

  • That has got to be a joke.

  • ah, a public transport strike tomorrow !
Wouldn't be a good idea for first go at city riding then....... might come in on saturday instead.

  • Friday's usually quieter than the rest of the week anyway, so it'll probably balance out.

  • Was going to Barclay rental, could be busy on the rentals if no buses.
Had a 10 year gap from being in London, been in recently as a ped. Man is it busy nowdays, walking around some places was hard going, sooo many people.

Would be in around 10'ish and heading out 3.30-4pm latest, figured that would work fairly well as missing peak time. Nothing to do but explore a bit of London, learn my way around a bit.
But thank you for insider info :)

  • Girl on CS7 had a nice new Knog rear light... completely hidden by the rear rack.

  • ^euph?

  • You should try visiting Kilmarnock.

  • My GF got a taxi down to A&E especially (and only) to give me a bollocking.

Which is nice because at least it shows she cares.

  • Chain jumped off going around a corner and locked my rear wheel. TERRIFYING!!
Need to investigate the wheel slippage. I've had to tighten it twice this week already!!

    Fun/Fast/Quiet commute otherwise.
7/10 - would shit myself in terror again

  • Pulled up to the front of an advanced stop line yesterday evening on the way home, and a black cab pulls up beside me. His window rolled down, he strikes up a conversation: "You must be one of the good ones, stopping at red lights". "You're one of the normal sh*t taxi drivers who jump red lights and ignore advance stop lines" I reply smugly, and cycle off.......

  • CS7 was quiet this morning: drivers and cyclists. Liked it.

  • The highlight of this morning's commute was seeing some chap on a mountain bike popping a wheelie in the queue at the lights at the junction of Kennington Road and Lambeth Road.

It made up for being blanked by the Loughborough lollipop man.

  • The lollipop man wasn't there at 7:30 or so when I went past this morning. Serves me right for setting off early.

@andyp what time do you come through HH, maybe we could ride together for a bit one day?

  • i had quite a nice one this morning too - lots of assorted vehicles stopping to let me out etc. probably taking pity coz of the rain and that. Still, doesn't happen every day.

  • Chaos around Westminster this morning - Abingdon Street completely shut on approach to Parliament Square - had to cross the river a few times to try to get round. Police said it was a "crime scene" when I asked which roads were shut. Didn't sound good, no idea what happened but hope no one hurt.

  • Is it The Queen doing a service for Afghanistan casualties? Dunno if that counts as a crime scene, although her hat's horrible.

  • Gutted @andyp being blanked. #pray4ubruv

    He waved at me. #boastpost

  • The police thought my pannier bag might contain a bomb. It doesn't (or does it? It doesn't.)

  • That happened to me last October.

Unfortunately I was on a descent, doing about 35 mph.

I came off and was lucky to escape with just bruises and grazes. (My leg warmers and overshoes weren't so lucky!)

That bike now has chain tugs.
