you better actually keep this bike

I'm considering a custom steel fork. What do I need to bare in mind - do straight/curved blades and lugged/uni crown play a part in ride characteristics or is it all aesthetic?

My winter bike finished and now spring is coming...

Yeah yeah, defo* , I love alu frames anyway - plus need a decent whip for Spring/Summer

They do, ask the frame builder for guidance, but IMHO just tell him how you want it to took, use with brakes etc. and you'll be fine.

Let me know, £30 is a bargain if they are good!

Plan for the RIH is wide risers, pink grips (which look sick) omnoms and black parts.
Tho managed to get a stem stuck in it already, and the seatpost I bought doesn't fit so good start...

Then when I have more money will build it up a bit more classic, but as the paint seems pretty shit it will probably end up ratty... which is cool!

Sounds mad rad already, apologies for the seatpost issue. Yeah, the paint is crazy flaky, especially round the track ends. but send me some pics of it built up/updated tho.

Question for you all: I have a Nitto Pearl, but I can't slam it as the headtube of my frame is just 10 cm. So it stops and still sticks out quite a bit.

Are there any lovely looking stems with a short height for smaller frames? Just wondering, perhaps it's just the way it is.

(the occasional cut stem comes up on NJS sellers but...that's about it)

Below new frame...used 14bike co, but build by Lee Cooper and going to be the little sibling to my Thorn, also built by him. Nitto and Sugino Mighty parts waiting.

I can't win here, Balk first comment is that somebody doesn't like the paintjob, I a get a frame with a neutral paintjob and it gets likened to a saw... :)

If you didn't realise, he was saying that you should cut the stem yourself.

yep,
you need to get the angle right (i.e. cut parallel to the existing line) and ensure you're not going to run out of thread on the expander bolt
you'll also need the hacksaw to cut the excess expander bolt to save some more grams

I got a pair too, they seem pretty cool.

had the exact same problem on my lee cooper and ended up getting a cut stem

Still got them, not sure I trust them so I'll probably pick up a new pair soon. They're the same as super pista forks which are just alpinas.
