Can someone clever do a calculation to figure out how far off Tarzan would be if he'd also had to do all the elevation gain Steve has done? Probably impossible to accurately gauge. Its just kinda disappointing that Tarzan will likely overtake Steve soon and (if form continues) beat him overall. But it must be so much easier rolling around the sunny flat lands of Flordia compared to miserable cold rolling hills of England. Not that I'm suggesting either is easy.
Also does anyone know why Tommy had a day off on 28/10? Injury?
It's apples and pears isn't it. Both mega undertakings, but not the same. I like that Steve's route is continuous and he starts in the morning from where he finished, and that he's doing it all on a bicycle.
I wouldnt be so quick to rule out Steve. I think hes got more in his locker and will grind it out. I think Kurt is more prone to accident or injury. I think Steve will lay some (even more) serious miles down in the summer and then we will see.
As discussed earlier in this thread, Tarzan can not take away Steve's crowning of the prize, but 8 days after Steves crowning he can be the new keeper.

From TommyGodwin.com
"28th October – Following 300 consecutive days of riding, Tommy has his first and only days rest. He can afford to relax; the year record has been beaten with two months to spare."
