Where'd you get the red grips?

The frame builder can't supply segmented road forks, so I'd have to buy one from Christopher Igleheart which could slow down progress.... a lot. Think I might still go for it though.

Igelheart, sounds good.

That bar tape, bought on impulse at the bike discount shop over Christmas turned out a lot better then I thought.
New brifters and bars as well.
Will have to go to Condor later today for some titanium screws for the stem.

Brifter is the worst word in the world.

Yeah i thought a Ti post would suit it nicely, but only have one post in that size.
rides great, very effortless and easy to ride, just feels a bit useless.

1 genius 1ELOS nany SLX 3Nemo and One F***g Spirit for me...JOY!!!
Columbus Spirit – Heat treated
NIOBIUM is a special steel with manganese, chrome, nickel, molybdenum and niobium. Columbus’s special chemical composition, the combined effect of strengthening for precipitation and reducing the alloy grain size are incredibly enhanced compared to standard steels. Niobium proves more effective than Vanadium as an alloy-strengthening agent. After specific processes of progressive drawing and forming, NIOBIUM undergoes a special heat treatment that gives the steel its final characteristics. It is a steel designed to provide superior mechanical characteristics and higher resistance to environmental effects than conventional carbon steels. A serious choice for a competition or top-of-the-line frame, where lightweight and reliability are essential.
Why it works:
UTS = 1050 ÷ 1250 MPa
Favourite Quotes – “Spirit” cromoly from Columbus. Well at least that’s what my Pegoretti is made from and I think it rides the best of my steel bikes. I’m fully aware it’s not just the tubing though. -

Finished my Ceramiche Ariostea 1991 Colnago Master.

Nice dude! Similar to how I had it built.
Fork looks good too.
RIH is slowly being built, 26.4 seatpost is still too big. So need to buy one smaller and now has risers and pink grips. But have run out of money now so stopped for this month

The bike I found in the canal is making progress. The friend i'm building it for is really exited! Internally routing the rear cable took an hour of faffing about.

^^^Wicked, excellent work
back in '91 (when I was a little fanboy) I had a poster on my wall of Sørensen riding one of those
^ It wasn't that one, but I thought I'd post it for amusement value.(wheels, tyres Keos, cages and saddle could be a bit more period correct but hey ho - it's splendid and this ain't pron, enjoy it!)

Thanks. I still have the "right" Look pedals somewhere but no cleats. Components for wheels (7400 hubs on Wolber Aspin rims and mid 90's Conti Competition tubulars) are present too (but not built yet) and a period-correct saddle and bottle cages will come too, I hope. But right now I just wanted to ride the bike. :-)
You know what saddle they used? Vetta? Saw a footage on Youtube of the 1991 Tour of Flanders (Sörensen and a teammate were in the lead group of 4) and they were wearing those enormous Vetta helmets. Think I will keep my Speci though. ;-)
I became a fan the day Moreno Argentin (team Ariostea at the moment) placed the race-winning escape in our street in the 1990 Tour of Flanders.

Ah yes, those vetta pisspots
re: Saddles - I doubt they were using Vetta - IIRC Sørensen had a Regal back then.
Here's a pic of yer man Argentin using a Rolls on his carbitubo in 1993
And Here's Riis with Regal

-
• #100073
If you ever want to get rid of the disc Ill take it :-)
-
• #100075
Ha, thanks. A Regal it will be. My butt likes them more than a Rolls. ;-)
Looks tidy, have you tried a silver post if you've only lying around?
How does it cycle...after all that's the important part :D
