There are various bike recyclers, mostly charity/community enterprises, who might take the stuff off your hands. http://bsbcoop.org/ seems to be the closest to you.

Aaah yes thanks. From the website I think that they may be the same group of folks who used to have a shop up on Magdalen Rd... They closed down a few years ago but maybe they're back. They loaned me some tools for my first ever FIXEH SKIDDAH build and gave me a saddle out of their parts bin FOC which is still on my commuter, so it would be nice if they had a use for the bits.
I just posted this ad in the local forum, but if no one wants my boxes of junk parts, what is the best way to get rid of them?
Are local bike shops likely to want any of it, or is it all just destined for landfill?
How do other people get rid of their cycling junk?
