  • I reshaped the hooks with a hammer to allow for easier access- especially deeps.
    But no pretty simple really.
Side to side- they seem pretty sturdy when I move them out of the way to pull a bike out.

  • Has anyone got experience of cycloc wall hangers? They seem to stick out very far from the wall and I can see them denting thin wall alu top tubes?

  • How have you got on with the as guard? Has it protected the bikes from the weather and the criminals?

  • yeah all good, no moisture or condensation inside. its pretty fucking solid too, i feel very reassured by its quality. would recommend!

  • Excellent thanks. Good to know it's working out well. Reckon I'll be purchasing one soon.

  • I got the twin bike locker that opens at the ends, winter has been plagued by condensation from the roof and rapidly rusting chain. Much disappoint.

  • @hoke how did the Clug thing work out?

  • Also, does anyone know where to get oversized wall hooks that will take 88mm rims. I'll be attaching them to the the ceiling, potentially, instead of the wall to give me more floor space.

  • Silverline 675306 Assorted Storage Hooks 20-Pack 55 - 180mm https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B000WTPX4C/ref=cm_sw_r_awd_OEU.ub1A36QHY

    HANG ALL THE THINGS!!!!!

  • Actually, at that price it's going on my wish list for later

  • I just need the round hooks though :( not the complete assorted set

  • really happy with mine. I have a spare one.

  • Are you offering me it :p

  • sorry to hear that, mines been great. no condensation at all. keep my logs and kindling in there too, and they burn nice.

they have a few pointers on their site about how to keep them dry - dont put soaking bikes in it, don't have plants too close to the shed (not sure what that actually does)

i did buy the extra secure one though, so perhaps it is better sealed, ventilated.

  • Is it safe to hang bikes from carbon rims on wall hooks?

  • Yeah, the only damage your likely to do is cosmetic. As long as the hook is rubber sheathed you'll be fine. #sniggers

  • It's what i'm planning on doing

  • Yeah, an old housemate had one of the others and our was fine then. Maybe related to not having a baseplate on mine, annoyingly it was the only model that fitted in my space. Probably have to somehow insulate the inside

  • ah, not having a baseplate sounds like the culprit. a few people online mentioned things like cat litter helping absorb some moisture. though i cant speak through experience!

  • put a sack of this in the corner

  • anyone been obsessively collecting tiny bags of silica?

  • I used to... a few years ago I collected hundreds of them to keep cameras dry when I took them to the tropics. :-)

  • So I thought the product looks alright at a reasonable price, so I've ordered two. Had to pay a bit more for exchange rate and foreign currency, but that's fine. Now I received a card from Royal Mail, that I have to pay more than a half of what I already paid for the product in customs charge fees.

  • What do people do about grotty bikes being put where grot will drip? Many of these solutions are brilliant, but I would worry about all the bad weather commuter grime damaging carpets/sofas/walls. Currently I make use of a pretty ugly strip of emergency grime catching camping ground sheet.
