Rapha, nice but a bit pricey?

@hugo7 Assos all the way for socks here. With SIDIs that have lots of holes, I wear Early Winter up to 16C, then the Mille. The Intermediate is good but if it's too cool for the Mille then the Early Winter is fine for me. They last a long time, and can cope with being washed a lot. No holes yet, but I did buy a bunch of pairs during sales. Ideally don't tumble dry them.

Assos socks aren't available in big sizes either.

When is the new city collection being released? The new socks and colours for the sweatshirt don't give me much hope - lemon yellow and bright purple remind me of how french kids dressed when I was a child in the 80's.

In the 80's you were nothing more then an orange juice drinker.

I vaguely remember a school trip to Normandy when I was 13, overnight ferry and arrived at 9am. We were sent off to find breakfast for ourselves, my day started with Kir Royale, followed by calvados. I don't remember orange juice featuring in the festivities.

The On-Ones are the same as Endura merino thinnies and they are a bit rubbish for longevity. But £1.99

Assos are actually the only socks I've ever disliked - always seems to be a seam or piling under the ball of my foot. Pearl izumi are usually crazy cheap in packs of five - go a bit baggy eventually though.

I got the socks and a few other bits for my 40th over the weekend. Wore them yesterday with shorts, base layer, jersey and jacket so that I could nail the #FKW and #MAMIL tags officially for the first time.

It felt wrong. But ever so right.

I like the pro team socks, though they went very grey when accidentally washed with some darks.

The purple in the city collection is kinda cool, the jeans, on the other hand....

I've found them to be as durable as the current Rapha merino ones, which are not a patch on the older versions
