  • What's the best option for converting a frame with vertical dropouts; eccentric BB?

  • or eccentric rear hub or magic gear

three options really, bar replacing dropouts

  • Cheers. What are people's experiences of eccentric bb v hub? Pros/cons/ recommendations. Can't be arsed with magic gear

  • I've been very satisfied with my Eno hub. Easy to set up, smooth and looks nice.

  • You can still get NOS Voodoos with sliding dropouts for under £50 on eBay, if you're tall.

Otherwise, I'd look for an SS on-one frame rather than buying a fancy hub.

  • ive been looking at these options recently and decided the magic gear was probably the easiest
some of the bb's and hubs can be pretty pricey made by names such as phil and eno
it seems difficult to find a bb for a regular british threaded racer type bb which was my reason for going down the magic gear route

  • Thanks chaps. Have existing frames. Maybe I need to think again about magic gearing

  • did some extreme canal pathing this week on my voodoo wanga got nice and muddy over west london way , can't recommend the frame highly enough

this is THE most elegant solution to your single speed requirements
