  • You're never too Essex for a string vest and a trilby.

  • Good

  • mands - we let you down last year with crap signs - this year we'll have non flimsy corrugated ones, thanks for offering to help:)

  • Sad to see quite a few signs ripped down last year. What can be done about that?

    Signs made of Tynan Paste?

  • Dam I've missed it... Had alot of fun on this two years ago, on the list for now, fingers crossed..

  • Also happy to do signs again this year.

  • In for signposting.......... as long as there is a taller person to put up actual sign. Have expertise in handing over sign and cable ties.

  • Happy to do signs. I`m brixton based

  • I wonder if the LFGSS jersey would be ready for this and if anyone else will have one who is doing the ride

  • Anyone have a gpx route for this?

  • seeing as I haven't even decided what the route is yet, the answer is 'no'.:)

    ;-)

  • I'm new on here and I've just signed up for this my first ever organised ride. I was slightly worried about completing it as ALL of my rides are 9 miles commutes each way although I've been commuting for approx 7 years. I took my first longer ride last week and did 20 miles without much pain afterwards so 'think' I should be OK however I'll need to change my Alfine sprocket to make the hills easier!

Has anybody got any advice for this my first ride????

    Thanks

  • Keep pedaling

  • Remember to drink plenty.

Remember that a 4% beer will hydrate more than it will dehydrate.

The suggested amount is one litre per hour of excercise.

Guiness is an excellent recovery drink.

The suggested amount is one litre per hour sat at the pub.

  • If you're not having fun, you're doing it wrong.

  • Aim for the roughest bits of the road when not on cobbled sections.

  • Is very hard to do this ride badly. Just sit back and enjoy.

The hardest part is pint at half way by tower Bridge or wait until along the riverside...?

  • The hardest part is pint at half way by tower Bridge or wait until along the riverside...?

    Both, obviously.

  • Obligatory stop at the Dog & Bell.

  • Great that's what i'd hoped for this in this ride plenty of refreshment stops.

  • Great, that's what I'd hoped for this in this ride, plenty of refreshment stops for performance-enhancing substances.

    Fixed. :)
