• Begging friend of mine to go for a ride, he's usually the only one I go riding with regularly, he insist on having a short jaunt that's than 65km on account of his dodgy knees, so we took the train to Guildford and did a loops.

Went well, apart from going off road on Beaconhill Copse (mistake on my part), then again at Charlie's Hill (again, mistake) which give me an unique insight on how the pro did cyclocross back in the 70's with mere 25mm knobbies, wasn't too hard surprisingly, just a bit tricky descending a big drop on a road bike.

Have to take brake off in the end to clear away the mud properly, note to self - buy better brakes to replace the shitty Veloce one.

Very happy with the new road bike, comfortable, smooth, great to climb and fit very nicely.

Much to my surprise, 52/36 felt just about right.

    8/10 would.
