Ended up choosing the classic softshell, on reflection I need a slightly different rainjacket for use for other purposes and my relaxed pace commutes should mean I don't boil until proper spring warms up then I'll still get full benefit next winter... (and many more after I hope).

Has anyone here had any experience of repairing a Softshell through their repair service? I took a tumble on the Circle Line ride over the weekend and my Softshell now has a gaping hole on the right shoulder...

They will do a fine job. Had a similar incident with my hardshell and they put in a patch of matching material, same with a pair of bibs and leg warmers, fine service.

Mine the same (both brought in same year), I have a feeling that the legs warmers get a lots of abuse compared to arm warmers.

Regent's Park this morning was like a Rapha showroom.

Is that good or bad?

I'm waiting to spot my first digital jersey.

I saw some digi socks in RP this morning, and a digi bidon. The socks look pretty good actually. Don't like the jerseys though

That was never going to take long...

Is there a concensus on which socks are best for general road riding? Thinking of putting the code towards a sock bundle.
Or are there any other brands which do better socks?
Cheers

All Rapha socks I've had have been nice (but etc.)
Defeet are always good an so are Prendas if you want to try something else.

Cheers.
Time to weigh up costs and looks as I have just been using M&S merino ones that are nearing their end and possibly a bit warm for summer.
I keep looking at the bundles and things like the lightweight and classics look like really good deals... except only want half of the items and probably only need a third of them.

Socks always wear out eventually so there's no harm in having a few spare pairs tucked away if you're getting a good deal .

If you're buying thin socks, rapha's are no better than any other decent thin cycling sock in my experience.

^ yep, prendas are better imo

Cheers all. Prendas or DeFeet it is. Although the stupid range of lengths is now confusing me... apparently there are 'rules'.

Go tall, but not compression sock tall. These are my favourites:

I've loads of Prendas but the faves are Assos and Defeat.

I love these but be careful in the wash - I have some that shrank and went very felt-y.

Today's email reminded me how shit those trade team jerseys are for the cash. The red/white/black design is ok but not favourite colours.

Should have tried the merino socks I would think.

Anyone fancy selling me a XXL black soft shell jacket for about £120....
^^ They're not. Might be a few in the Clubs if you're lucky.
