With a heavy heart, I'm going to do an N-1. Absolutely love this beauty, but she's not fast enough for the long rides and she's too pretty to leave locked up outside on the commute.
Literally just googled Orrell for the first time, having always assumed it was one of those defunct Northern frame builders, but no, he's still going! http://www.neilorrellcycles.co.uk/
Apparently all are hand built custom things. You certainly don't see many of these about, but this certainly turns heads.
58cm, 531 steel, full Campag Daytona group (this is what they called Centaur for a year before some car people got upset and moaned about trademarks) with a Chorus front mech. Wheels are modern Mavic Aksiums with 23mm Conti Gatorskins on em... but, if anyone would prefer, I've got the wheels the bike came with too - Mavic CPX30s - they're far more in keeping with the bike but annoyingly are tubulars.
The bike as it is in the above photo comes in at a surprisingly low 9.855kg. The ride quality is forgiving rather than race tight, as you'd expect. Top tube feels quite long to me - I'm 6'1" and if anything it's a mite too stretched out, but I think I've got long legs rather than a long torso.
There's a few minor cosmetic dings and scratches - a few paint chips, and the rear mech looks like it got scratched after a fall. That was either the patch of ice I hit, or the daft dog who ran under the wheel (dog survived unscathed). Other than that, the paint has a beautiful metallic sheen, and the chrome is shiny and delicious. And those lugs! Oh those lugs.
I don't want to sell it I don't want to sell it I don't want to sell it :(
Any thoughts as to what it's worth? I had thought around £400.
