• I have never found this. Maybe I haven't ridden as far or for as long as you are relating to, but when I've done 3,4 or 5 day rides of 100+ miles a day eating remains an absolute pleasure and each excessive (but justified because fueling) meal becomes a highlight. And pudding. Lots of pudding.

  • My experiences come from trips longer than a week. I get to the point where I know I need to eat, but am so fed up with just shovelling it in that, mentally, it gets tough.

I've no idea how Steve can keep going day after day after day. Mentally he must be very, very tough.

  • Are you pushing/going very quickly? Intrigued by this, I've done up to 6 days of 100+ miles per day and never noticed any loss of appetite. Doing a circuitous 9-10 day LEJOG this year which will be comfortably 100+ a day and the eating was one of the things I was most looking forward to. And the beer, obviously. Got to wash it all down with something... hope I don't suffer this.

  • For some of us it's easier to keep eating than stop eating. :)

  • I tend to move to grazing as the days Mount up. Which is great if Your just hanging around a flat full of knackered cyclist for hours on end. Not so great if you're a time crunched record attempter I Guess.
