In Switzerland this weekend, so on Saturday @Cycliste and I went over to the UCI velodrome. Having fitted the new bars and stem on my bike (Easton EC90 track bars with an Easton EC90SL stem - a great improvement over the Pro Vibe stuff) I did a 20 minute solo threshold effort, a 30 minute tempo session with @Cycliste in tow, before rounding things off with a few sprint/recover laps and a warm down. 20 track miles, so all good. Then we rode back to Villeneuve by the Rhone and got the train home.
Today we went for a ride up towards Moudon/Romont/Palazieux. The weather was really good, with a temperature of around 10-12 degrees despite all the snow on the ground. Here's the ride details:
And a coupla piccies. Here's @Cycliste climbing alongside Lac de Bret at the beginning of the ride:
And here's the view at the highest point of the ride, just before Le Flon:
I probably should've set off with rather more sustenance then two bottles of zero-calorie electrolytic drink. I ended up having to stop off at Bossonnens train station on the way back to buy an emergency Twix as @Cycliste was starting not only to be able to keep up during the climbs, but was starting to complain about the relaxed pace.
A good day out though. Oh, and it was our 20 year anniversary too.
