"Our thinking is that a disc wheel is for riding fast and that it should not be compromised for the occasional need of the smallest cog."
Huh...isn't the smallest cog for going fast?

"clearance can be an issue on the lowest gear in 11 speed cassettes"
Sounds like they've just written it up wrong and they mean the biggest cog.

Thinking of taping up my AirAttack for the early season TTs. I don't own a real aero helmet.
Anyone done this? Did your brain boil and/or did you set a course record?

How long are the races?
Wait.. it's Britain right? This shithole will never be hot enough to boil anything.

They're all between 20 - 30 miles.
So long as sweat doesn't get in my eyes I reckon it's a (brain-boiling) no-brainer.

I have vents in my lid and still get sweat in my eyes. In fact, riding without a helmet I still get sweat in my eyes. Ain't no stoppin' the stingin'..

I notice the difference when I stash the Giro Air attack lens in front of the vents. So much so that for climbing focused rides I tend to leave it in a jersey Pocket. Even at my sluggish climbing speed I appreciate the air flow. I'm not sure I'd like to cover the vents With tape.
I have a thin headband to deal With sweat. Whiping sweat from my eyes while wearing the visor is one of the very many Things, I simply cant do in a tight Group, without causing an apocolyptic crash.
Its this one below. On my bald'n'beardy self its a strong look. half 70s tennis player, half easter egg.

A Coolmax™ cap (on backwards) works.
It's not often an adult can wear caps backwards so I enjoy it. This is also a nice homage if you're doing a HC. It's traditional and looks hardcore for that psychological upper-hand.

There's no way I'd carry all that extra weight up.

These aren't done yet, but design work is in progress. Technical stuff: spherically blunted (R=3mm) tangent ogive 1.5CRH, projection out of the end of the extension is ~26.4mm, so a bit shorter than the proposed RaceWare 3D prints. Just putting this out there to tease @umop3pisdn , @Scilly.Suffolk and any other fixed gear testers.
