Revelate D saddlebag. Anyone got one they don't want?, before I order one.
Can't deal with the logos on the apidura, or that just just copied the revelate design 99%.

I've got an Archies saddlebag (old style, not the drybag harness) that I'm finally parting with. has only been lightly used (DD three times, one 4 day tour).
any interest here? £SOLD -

Need bikepacking collectives advice.
I want a top tube bag, for storage. I had a small one at the stem last year at it was great for food/accesables. But I want more food and more stuff accessable.
I mocked this up in cardboard. It seems to work okay.
Has anyone seen it done before? I think I can see how it will work in my head, connecting/stability wise.6cm wide
50 long
10 high at tt

Seen it once or twice but much slimmer e.g. https://instagram.com/p/nytI3ZS_dI/?modal=true

Interesting idea, would sort out my tiny frame waterbottle/framebag issues. I'd prefer to seperate ones that leave a small space in the middle for extra versatility and leave a gap for top tube sitting
-

Who need to sit!?
Yeah I know what you mean though.
I thought about buying 2 off the shelf top tube bags, but that would cost about the same as getting this made!

• #1311
Have you tried standing over it and getting on and off the saddle?
If you don't smash the cardboard with your crotch it's a good idea!
Might be stability issues, stopping it from flopping sideways?

I am looking for a way to get rid of my backpack on small mtb daytours.
I'd like to take a rainjacket (rather large), my basic toolkit, 1-2l of water, mobile, keys & wallet and maybe some food.
Framebag?
I'd like to minimize the effect it has on steering, and don't want bits flopping around... -
• #1313
To be fair. I normally get on and off by clipping left foot in, pushing down and swinging leg over. Can get off same way too. But crotch does just graze bag.
Stabity yes. I figured if I can attached it to seat post eaisly, then try and get an attachment around the stem. With these 2 points pulling the bag taught it should work. Also I plan on dividing the space internally I to 3. These deciders would add ridgitiy. Failing that, using thin ridgid plastic attached to the base with sides would keep it in place, but was space and add weight.

Frame bag or saddle bag.
Which is best depends on the frame and space available really. -
• #1315
Should also be fun in a 30+mph crosswind.
-
• #1316
Been riding the past few days in big wind here and the frame bag is no issue at all.
So wouldn't be a probelm. -

a tangle bag mounted upsidedown on top of TT?
stability might be a problem. -
• #1318
You'd run the risk of ejecting the contents onto the road/into your wheels if you open it on the go too

in other news, I just finished a gas tank bag.
more: https://www.lfgss.com/conversations/258855/?offset=25#12122550how much bag capacity do you guys have?
I'm trying to gauge what bags to get for very short trips with my son. I'll have to haul almost everything. No bivy-ing. Bulky tent etc.
I plan to borrow most of the gear so don't have it at hand to measure.
10L+20L+20L sounds about right? too much? -

I can see that being really annoying with my knees hitting it all the time. Likewise it could slip, would rather have something positioned like a tri-bag at the front of the top tube. But being only half the length of the top tube. Much like what Apidura already do, but perhaps a little bigger.

I decided that since I have notions of a Transcontinental Race at some point I'd go with some bikepacking kit rather than just upgrade the Carradice ahead of PBP. I went with an Apidura saddlebag in the biggest one the have.
Tested it today and it's pretty good. Dealt well with a mix of drizzle and hard rain with no leakage. It swings a bit, more so once you've chucked a couple of cartons of soup in it. The seatpost collars have no grip so I'll probably put something in there to dampen any swinging. I may also install some mini bungees to help compress soft stuff into the bottom and maximise carrying capacity.
I'm missing the Carradice side pockets so need to get a tri bag to counter that loss for phone, wallet etc... Will also mean I might hear my phone occasionally.
It is when you're lifting over rocks up the side of a mountain.
