Stybar is looking so Kwiatkowski it's uncanny. Class win.
-
• #678
I thought Valverde had that. Hopefully we've seen the back of him.
He did take his turns though. Still - thanks and bye.

Stybar said he would win and he did. Great start of season for the Etixx guys.

Vanmarcke giving it large for the crowd crossing the line for 4th. Class act and a gutsy ride. Please let him get a monument this year.

I didn't realise Canc punctured thrice, if so a monumental effort. Sagan looking a little out of sorts at the moment, unless he had similar problems

Lolz at Valverde blaming his loss on doing too much work during the race. I'm sure he'll learn from his mistake

Funny that; the Eurosport commentators mentioned a few times how Valverde had been protected through the race by his team, so had a good chance of winning.
-
• #684
I think their assumption was Valverde is the better climber, but apparently the wind was a major factor, and they rode hard to keep Canc away. I guess Valverde wasn't as fresh as he generally aims to be and Stybar's power told in the end.

Yeah or at least a classic. If he goes two years in a row holding great form from OHN right through to P-R, animating and shaping races, and wins nothing it will be a travesty
-
• #686
Also riders aiming for a peak for Flanders and Roubaix are ahead of riders aiming for the Ardennes races. The results of this race reflect this, arguably.
-
• #687
You never know with Valverde. Last year he seemed to be on form throughout.
-
• #688
Gerrans broke his elbow. Said on Twitter he's got a couple of weeks on the turbo. Seems optimistic that he'll be back that soon, but then look at Contador last year.
Still - means he'll miss Milan-San Remo.

WTF is up with Eurosport UK coverage? The live race show stopped 30k from the end and the scheduled highlights weren't on?
-
• #690
Eurosport's schedule can only be used as a very rough guide, and it always seems to be the cycling that loses out to darts, or some other such shite. Maybe the darts fans complain similarly though, who knows.

Allegations against Servais Knaven and EPO use during his time at TVM in the Mail on Sunday this morning. More stress on their zero tolerance nonsense.

From inner ring. What's this nonsense about a special car?

It’s a rare chance to see Bradley Wiggins in his TT rainbow jersey. A win is a big ask but the course suits him, the only question is how much his focus on prepping for 250km classics has blunted his power for an 7-8 minute effort. Wiggins will be followed by a special car and if you think it looks nice, wait until you hear it.

Successful 1990s cyclist doped shock.
There needs to be a line drawn in the sand because the peloton was juiced to fuck 20 years ago.
Sky's stance is admirable and they can't really do a u turn now but it seems naive to employ anybody who rode in the last 30 years with any assurance they've got no skeletons in the closet.
-
• #694
Perhaps Knaven will get ill like Sean Yates did.
-
• #695
There's some sort of Jaguar coupe with rainbow stripes that can carry about one spare bike and three wheels.
PR stunt for Jaguar.
-
• #696
I assume Knaven has told Sky he didn't dope, as part of the pogrom after Wiggins Tour win. If it subsequently comes to light that he lied then they have no option but to sack him. Which is the consequence of such a short sighted policy.
Anyway, it's in the Daily fucking Mail, who clearly don't have an axe to grind against a team owned by one of their major rivals.

Thoughts on this black world champs Jersey?
Quite a sizeable big ring. 55t?

Nice, but probably a bit pricey.

And that's only the bike.
Vanmarcke just doesn't know when he's beaten
