Recommendations for something cost/benefit concious
3T Vola ? I have the clips and pads on my RollerFort, they seem nice. Pretty similar to Zipp Vuka Alumina in terms of build/set-up/price. You should have bought some of those £200 Ventus that everybody hoovered up at Christmas :-)

This arrived yesterday (full marks to @JK, formerly @klonaris, for a hassle free trade, speedy dispatch and proper packaging).
It's been around the forum a bit (one, two), losing a few decals and gaining some paint chips, but is ding-free and straight & true.
According to @lightweight "This frame was originally made for me in the late 90s as a Pursuit frame. For a while there was a regulation regarding the protrusion of tri-bars beyond the front hub. Anyone over 6 foot tended to struggle to comply with this. What most tall riders did to get around this was to lengthen the wheelbase.
It might make the frame look a little unusual however it ensures that you don't get any pedal overlap with the front wheel hence its a pretty formidable TT machine on any course without a ridiculous hill and you could generally keep up a pretty decent pedalling rate on roundabouts even with 175mm Cranks. Illy will attest to this also."
Once I get it back from the LBS (where the BB shell is being faced and chased) I will be wrestling with the HS cups: the HT is so short that my extractor doesn't expand to meet the cups' lip, but I should be able to overcome that by jamming an old screwdriver into the extractor, to flare the tangs.
The cups have to go, because the forks have to go: threadless/Ahead FTW.
I was all set on a pair of Argos forks, until I saw @xavierdisley post in the TT thread: "Yeah I think you're quite right. There's a fair interaction between the forks, one reason why I stuck with Jetstreams once I realised they worked with the H3s I was running at the time. I used to pray for wind as if you can hold down a trispoke in a gale it's just so so fast.".
A trispoke is on the shopping list (natch) and I've sourced a NOS pair of 1" A900 for about the same as the Argos: any thoughts?
The rear wheel will be a 23mm disc-brake rim on a Novatec hub, skinned with a RALTech, which (dentists stand by) I'll be building myself: rim suggestions plz.
Drivetrain will be 3/32". Despite a long, largely work-free Winter I've managed to hold onto a pair of Record UT and have a selection of 8v rings: handily, if you reverse them, they work with the OG skinny, later UT chainring bolts which means you can snap-up otherwise worn-out rings cheap.
Having said that, there's a crabon, Fibrelyte dinner plate for a good price "in the other place"...
Phil Wood at the rear (obvs): £10 cheaper new than 1/8" (but less often found second-hand). #swingsandroundabouts
Connex 7R8 is hard to find, but if the 1R8 is anything to go by, worth the chase.

Having covered "go", "stop" will be down to SRAM TT 500 (or second-hand 900) and, until I've got the means for a TriRig Omega, a 600/DA AX.
The £20 carbon post I have in Y-M 1.0 will suffice until I've got it built and can measure up, then I'll keep an eye open for a Mike Burrows or similar. Cradling my gooch will likely be an Adamo/Selle SMP of whatever flavour shows up for a reasonable price: I'm expecting to kiss a few frogs.
Which brings us neatly to the bars: all the cool kids are rockin' 3T Ventus, but $$$. Even Pro Missile Evo are $$. Recommendations for something cost/benefit concious between the round, 26mm Profile Design I have (teamed with shimmed Vuka Alumina clips) and the aforementioned? Are the Vuka Alumina a reasonable halfway house?
