Unlikely I know but if you do fancy a visit to the seaside :D I've got this in Swansea you could have for £250, I'd usually post but just haven't got time at the moment.
It's 53cm c to c seat tube and 54cm c to c top tube. It's a Basso fior di loto frame that's had a slightly odd copper like powder coat, Tiagra wheelset, front is new and rear has a few hundred miles on it, Sora 9 speed shifters and mechs (new), unbranded chainset.
Only just been built up so has new chain/cables/saddle and bar tape.

Hey Si46,
This stuff sounds cool. Got any photos? I'm 6ft 1in tall. The man in the bike shop (Evans, please don't judge!) said I should ride a 54in-56in frame because I have stubby little legs. I'm all torso. Will your frame be okay?

Hi Pete Wheels are here :- https://www.lfgss.com/conversations/262135/#comment12109953
Re sizing -it is a very personal area - a frame can be adjusted by putting the seat back and adding a longer stem and adjusting seat height -within reason.
I've ridden everything from 51cm to 57cm and got on well with them all (6')
I would think a 53 standard would be fine as you can have a lower seat height (or as high as you wish ) and then a slightly longer stem. Obviously with a larger frame you may not be able to lower seat height enough - so it's easier to make a smaller frame more expansive than the other way round.
I will try to put a pic of frame on from my phone

Hello Pete, sent you a PM yesterday, did you get it? Frame has a shorter seat tube than top tube, so think you'll fit well... it's a 53 x 57, but... current short reach stem feels more like a 53 x 55, I'm 6ft if helps for reference, open to offers on price...

Saw a nice one for you here in Belgium:

Wow, that's a lovely one. Are you selling it? Do you have any details about size and cost?
-
• #17
It's not mine, I just saw it on an auction-site. The guy who's selling says it' sa cyclocross frame size 57 cm but I can hardly believe that (based on length of steerer tube), I'd say it' s a 55. And because it has eyelets on rear dropouts and rear stay, I think it's a commuter-frame and not a CX.
This is the link to it: http://www.2dehands.be/fietsen/fietsonderdelen-accessoires/frames/merckx-stalen-crosskader-maat-57-226967577.html

A bit dear for me, but it's a handsome beast! Thanks for the info.
Hi there,
So I'm clearly a n00b and bought a bike two years ago from Gumtree. As is probably a common story, I ended up having to replace almost all parts of it as they all began to fail. Anyway, I've attached a picture to illustrate. The new bits on my bike are the surging crankset, pedals, BLB head tube, Mavic rear wheel, tyres, inner tubes, Charge saddle, set post , rear brake, handle bars and lever.
Yeah. I know. It still looks butters.
Now, after a few years I've realised the burning pain in my spine and shoulders are due to the frame being too large, so I have two options:
1) buy a new frame and move all the bits over
2) cut my losses, sell it and buy another bike
This is where I'm asking for help and advice. Does anyone on here have a bike or most of a bike that's 54cm-56cm? Which would make more economic sense?
Clearly I'm a cheapskate, so any offers under £250 will get more attention.
Thanks for your time.
Pete
