Where can I buy one of these in 32h?
I thought Evans (http://www.evanscycles.com/products/mavic/open-pro-cd-rim-36-hole-ec033250) but went a picked it up today and it's one of these
Do they still make the black ones with grey CD sidewalls?

If you mean the ceramic ones, then no, they don't make them any more.

I don't know about anyone else, but I have one bike that has to have presta (maybe 2), so the rest of my bikes have presta so I don't need to think about doing that fiddly thing with my pump.
This is especially true now you can get mtb tubes in presta.
Also schrader reminds me of the 80's.

I've been called up for jury duty in 8 weeks time, I'm looking forward to it but apparently it can be very boring. If you've done it, how did you find it?

CD isn't ceramic, it's "Couche Dure" which is an extra anodization process on the braking surface.
Mavic stopped making Open Pro Ceramics back in 2011 I think. Can find them on eBay occasionally.

Well, it's hard anodising on the whole rim, if we're being pedantic.

Closet rims you can get is the Rigida Grizzly CSS which is a bit porky I'm afraid.

Even my fatbike uses presta. One pump to inflate them all...

Interesting, boring and depressing in equal measure.

Cross posting from bottom bracket thread.
Sorry if this has been covered before, but I've tried searching and can't find it.I run an 8 speed drive, but want to upgrade my crankset as they are heavy, wide and too long. Will my 8 speed chain and 8 speed Claris FD run ok with this 9 speed tiagra chainset?
From other forums I've read, the general consensus seems to be "it might work but you might get chain rub". Wondered if anyone on here had direct experience of the issue. Thanks x

Would you live on Pownall Road, Hackney?
Yes, typical London mix of people, nothing too scary; or
No, I don't like getting knifed... -

Have and would again. Never got any trouble in the year and a half I was there.

If it's the same bcd could you swap chainrings?
9 speed has inner ring slightly over to the outside so the thinner chain can climb onto the big ring. This is the potential issue if you run a 8 speed chain in that it might rub when using the inner ring as 8 speed has slightly wider plates in its links, though irl it's normally fine.
If it does rub you could use a 9spd chain - I've done this with a 9spd fsa chainset friction shifting over a 7spd block with no issues. However if you're using indexed shifters I imagine it might make shifting at the back a bit tardy.
If the frame is steel, then get 120.
