  • So he's still insistent on selling stolen goods and you've got his words saying so?

  • Happy to build up. I can pick it up from you or Jackie or LMNH on an evening/late afternoon just let let me know when/who has it. (Don't want to chase up Johannes, though).

  • After Io has built it I can store the bike but it will need a lock. (I shouldn't be held responsible for any maintenance.)

  • No, it's two different people. Johannes wrecked, then abandoned the bike. New guy found it in a skip, saved it, sanded it and repainted it. Let him try to recoup is money. He's giving back the rest of the parts.

  • @io @Jackie... cool. I'll ask Nik if we can have it dropped off at LMNH. Cheers.

  • Fair enough.

Much rage. Very jump to conclusions. So pitchfork.

  • Lolz.

  • a guy called Tiago came by Mitch last night. Nice bloke and played in Rome for a few months but doesnt have a polo bike as yet. I said that we could help him out with a loaner potentially. Whats the current situation with the ? Ive got his number and said id let him know about it in the next day or two...

  • Two updates.

    1) Nik has agreed to accept the frame from Johannes at LMNH, and I've emailed him to let him know, but have not heard back yet.

    2) Ben, who found the Archie, has agreed to return the riser bars/brakes lever/front v brake/stem/seat/seat post and maybe a few others bits. He has offered to drop the stuff off to Io.

@Io can I give you his email and you can work out the details with him directly?

  • Yes, sure.

  • I have a front wheel which the loaner could use. It's my old wheel bit beaten up and needs to be trued but there's still some life in it.

  • Nice one ! I can true it. (I haven't had the frame/parts yet.)

  • I'll drop it over the weekend then? Ping me your address.

  • @coventry_eagle yep! i'll drop you a text message
@Chukker_Dredd, let me know Ben's email address and i will email him to suggest that i meet him to collect the parts.
@nik let me know when you receive the frame and will pick it up

I will note the frame number (if it has one) take photos and make a list of all parts and who donated them and post on Lpc forum. if anything needs buying (whether new or second hand) i will make a price list and share with all to be OK-ed. :-)

Also, tempted to suggest using some of the money to change that head set on the other loaner bike... but lets see how this goes first.

    :-)

  • Nice one. I've sent Ben your details and he'll contact you. He's on the road for work sometimes.

And, yeah, I have £100 to put toward anything you need for the loaner bike.

  • @io I have a few bits and pieces for the loaner if needed

  • Nice. I'm still waiting for the frame and bits that the guy is returning - once I have these I ll post here what else is needed :)

  • Any news about the frame?

  • Sorry. Just texted Nik to see if it's there.

  • Nik said it was there and she will check and confirm tomorrow.

  • Ok I'm away this weekend but I'll check with nik when I'm back to collect.

  • Nik has confirmed the frame is there. It's in the basement back room hanging up.

  • Ok, thanks, I texted nik yesterday to check when it's a good time to pick it up.

  • So I picked the frame today. No forks. Cranks don't move (bb stuck).

Here's a photo. I will wipe it abit, take the caps off and try to take the cranks and BB off. Then I ll snap photos for reference

  • Here we are after an hour of wrestling with it, the stuck cranks are off and caps off.

Any donations of parts to build welcome. As you can see it needs everything.
