Dave Mackay RIP

Indeed, RIP Dave Mackay, my dad was Glaswegian but moved to London in the early sixties. He ended up supporting Spurs because of their links with Scottish players, which is why I now support Spurs. I believe this falls within the Pisti rules. Last day I spent with my dad before he ended up in hospital, I took him to a game at White Hart Lane. Best thing about football, for me anyways!

What a colossal player he was, RIP.

Just woke up to the news of Dave Mackay passing. I'm too young to have seen him play in and manage the best teams in our history, but I heard all the stories from those who were there to witness his greatness.

A true legend. RIP.

In his autobiography he talks of not liking that photo, as it portrays him as a thug, when he was anything but - hard yet fair. IIRC he'd been kicked on the leg he had just recovered from breaking by Bremner, thus the reaction, and one of the most iconic footballing images. Apparently SAF kept a framed print of it on his office wall.

I love games like these. Players are really under the spotlight to see who can handle pressure. Just don't know if albion can go for the jugular. They would be foolish not to, this is a far more important game than Saturday's, especially for them, where as your mob are probably starting to feel safe.
