Yes they are 27" - 700c - same thing.

But 27" ≠ 700c
27" has a bead diameter of 630mm,
700c has a bead diameter of 622mm

Yes - Of course they are slightly different you are right but 4mm radius difference has no practical issues. Especially as I have very often seen manufactures tolerances which make them often within a mm or so different if that.

Yes I agree most clearances will tolerate them, but the guy was after, I guess, specifically vintage 27" wheels for his build for authenticity..... Anyway it doesn't matter......... (it's a free bump ;) )

To be honest, I didn't know the actual difference between them. I wasn't aware that 700c may fit my bike. There seems to be a lot less 27'' wheel sets on offer so definitely good to know.

I would be interested in these wheels, but I think you said collection only, does that still stand?
