    Find a test that's repeatable hence turbo is good for that.
    Don't worry so much about precise numbers, they don't matter. Just about relative improvement.

    Commuting is a NP raiser from all the stop start and getting upto speed.
    Try commute one day and leave the lights at granny speed as if you cranks would break if you pushed down. If you can be arsed also just get the power file and see whatime spend in upper zones is. Or count the number of peaks over 350W

    I gave up testing. I just know roughly what my FTP is and use that figure. And I know when it's growing. Either due to training session or sensations.

  • I only use my turbo test FTP for turbo training. I try to keep Things relavent. I find too big a difference between indoor and outdoors, and even flat TTing and climbing.

    Do turbo test - use FTP for targeted turbo training.
    Climb a big hill at max effort - use FTP for Climb pacing.
    Ride an intense race - compare data With when you felt Close to popping - use info for NeXT race.

  • That just looks like a commuters graph. Sprints from lights, and plenty of 60%FTP pootling at endurance/recovery pace. If that graph included any serious riding the 60min Power would not be 165w.

    So its a bit useless as it stands.

  • This is mine for this year. Looks very much like Yours at the start. But my trip to the Canary Islands gave me some decent 90min+ data.

  • I didnt pay full price (even for a classic) P2M but if I had to and the choice was between left hand only but cheaper vs L/R and pricey I'd go left hand only. I also thought about selling my P2M and getting that Rotor LT one but they only come in 30mm axles (>>>>>>>>)

    I'd love to have a set up like @dan .. stages and swap between track and road bike; if only stages didnt have issues.

    My Balance varies from 53/47 to 50/50 when I'm uninjured. Thats a in built 6% error you're buying into from the outset. But maybe thats just me.

    While injured I've been 57/43. Using this data, I've managed to firstly conclude that I'm pulling up With my non-injured leg*, and secondly reduce my Power Level while recovering. To a Level that allows 50/50. So I'm not just fecking my right leg, instead of building up my injured left. Its actually been quite useful.

    I am 53 L/47 R as well goes as much as 51/49 but never 50/50 .. dont really care about that bit of data tbh. Dont think I can do much with it either. Just need PM to stay in the appropriate zone.

    In terms of monies. If you use a Stages for both Your fixies skidder, and your road bike. Then its doing the job of 2 P2Ms. So its a fecking bargin.

    The L/R data thing is a bit of a Guess by the P2M anyway. So I would'nt consider it a real selling point. I'm using it for pretty much the first time. Never had a use for it before.

    that is an interestign feature as I do have cleat wedges on my right side. But I think the garmin l&r is a bit too pricey.

    I wish I could get the classic p2m as that would be a no brainer and super cheap, but don't think it fits force 22 cranks.

    £680 for p2m type s and then fit it to my existing force22 cranks seems to be the cheapest option so far.

  • I think you get a Power Balance across the spindle. Which doesnt need to be 50/50. But if you ride happy at a certain Balance. Mess With in-soles and both Your happiness, and spindle Power Balance changes. You have a decent data to try and fix it.

    My mate builds up the inside of his right shoe at the Arch. When Garmin rolled out this data with a recent update. He found his feet to be different. He aimed for perfectly balanced on the right foot. But that caused pain. So he dialed it back. So I think you need a known 'happy balance' to work towards.
