What's its point then? Just staying within uci rules?
Presumably, just like the fairing on the back of the Selle Italia Iron which seems to serve the same purpose. At least the tail extension on the Tritone does a job for triathlengers by holding their bottles. I don't know what the point of the UCI minimum saddle length is, though.

From when Obree put a kid's saddle on his bike isn't it?
-
• #66704
Possibly, but Obree retired years ago, so just annoying Scotsmen doesn't seen like a valid justification for an otherwise pointless regulation.

This is the UCI we are talking about...

Anyone used these 50000 mah back up batteries from China/ebay? I know they won't really be 50000 but any good?
-
• #66707
I don't know what the point of the UCI [equipment rule] is, though.
I thought the answer was always £££/$$$/€€€ etc.

I thought the answer was always CHF

I'm strapped for cash and considering selling a .com domain name i used for an exhibition project a few years ago that just so happens to be the name of an up and coming advertising/media company in another country who are using the local country suffix. I've also the twitter handle...
is there a realistic prospect of me selling it to them and how much would be apt? I have no clue about any of this but still wistfully dreaming of lots of cashmonies.tm ...

- Yes
- Pricing for domains where one other party wants it but it has no inherent value is a total crap-shoot.
Start by having a read through https://sedo.com/uk/sell-domains/overview/ , they've been around a long time and only have ~70,000 results on Google for "sedo sucks" so they are probably doing a decent job.
- Yes

@ùbér_grùbér selling domains is old, sue them for using a similar name and claim it's intellectual property or some bullshit.

Considering that he's going to get a proper bike, have you thought about having him trying out the three different groupset offering and decided which is perfect for him?
Can be done easily at any Evans shop.

Which type of plant is this ?
-
• #66714
Some kind of yucca?
-
• #66715
Surely the point is for tt bikes and more agressive positions so you can plonk your sit bones in the right place without having the nose of the saddle invading the same space as other more reproductively important stuff.

Why are Presta valves more common than Schrader?
I can see the benefits of Presta with skinny rims in road cycling, but with high volume tires on wide rims, why not Schrader? They work well enough on cars and you can fill them up at any gas station... -
• #66717
There are loads of cars, they have schrader, schrader valves are more common.
-
• #66718
I probably see about 60/40 in favour of schrader on bikes too, tends to be the more expensive stuff with presta.
#schrader4lyf -
• #66719
Easier to drain a presta when you want to change a tyre
-
• #66721
I've been on the other side of this and yes people pay very good money for the right domain.
A .com will have significantly more weight when it comes to seo factors and brand recognition. Happy to talk over pm if you'd prefer

Where's the thread that everybody posted forumers porniest bikes for the lfgss book?
-
• #66723
Maybe nuknow started it?m
-
• #66724
Presta valves require a smaller hole in the rim, losing less rim strength. Big problem for skinny rims.
-
• #66725
Okay, so I can see the advantage of a Presta valve when running skinny rims.
But are there actually any other technical advantages? Does it hold air better? Better to drain, maybe.
What's its point then? Just staying within uci rules?
