• Came to post about something else but since I was last poster I'll gove an update,

Opened an 'item not as described' case and seller was great, gave me a full refund and I saw later he relisted the forks with the leak etc disclosed within the listing and they sold for almost as much as I paid!

Now a new problem, I sold a WI freewheel on ebay, posted it on the 6th and got a message yesterday saying it hasn't arrived.

I thought the delay (3weeks) was a bit suspicious but buyer sounds genuine in his messages. I questioned the fact that I'd sent it to a shop and could it have been misplaced/misdirected and was happy enough with buyers responses.

I don't have the receipt for the (1st class small parcel) postage so cannot make a claim. There's no tracking with that service so can't trace it either. I've had to just refund the buyer.

What I do have though is receipts for other parcels posted more recently.

Would it be very out of line of me to claim that one of those has gone missing? I imagine that for an untracked service there's not much investigating that they can do and will just pay out. They owe me the compensation anyway so I don't really think I'm taking the piss too much but wouldn't want to get a postie into trouble for losing a parcel he really did deliver or anything.

    Yes.

And you know that already or you wouldn't be looking for someone to justify it.

With respect, posting sales without proof of delivery is a false economy: better 2nd class Signed For than 1st class and fingers crossed.
