  • Unglaubliche Szenen, Jeff!

  • Es wird heute Abend auf den Strassen von Almaty nicht getanzt!

  • Speculating here, of course, but stress-related skin disease is a pretty serious indictment.

  • A guy on Bikeradar said he'd ridden the last 70km and the cobbled sections were in a right old mess.

EQ didn't do a recon did they? Overconfidence?

  • What kind of time (UK) does omloop start and finish?

Am hoping to go out for a spin for a few hours late morning to avoid the rain (I'm no classics hard man) then settle into my sofa with a beer and steephill/ whoever has a stream in the afternoon for the final hours

  • 12.30-3.30 UK for telly

  • Greg van Avermaet went to the same baby doctor (also known for ozone treatment) as Sweeck and Meeusen. BMC lets him ride the Omloop today though.

    oh wait doping thread >>>>>>

  • Anyone know of a pub (with decent beer if possible) that might be showing Omloop in Brighton?

  • Eurosport Asia reckons its got live cycling from Belgium on tonight but isn't giving any more details.

    Fingers crossed.

  • I think they know the roads pretty well already and apparently the weather was awful - more likely a precaution to avoid a needless spill onto the cobbles the day before the classics start.

Can't believe Eurosport aren't showing this. What is my £3.99 a month for?

  • Which UK telly is showing this?
    Or is it Sporza?

  • FFS. It's all in forrin.

I thought Cycling was a British sport now.

  • I won't be watching it, but I love listening to these things in Flemish. It's between English and German and I can understand quite a lot despite never having studied it. Bike races are not a bad thing to watch for that, as the vocabulary is simple and there is lots of repetition of the same information in slightly different ways.

  • Took the bike for I ride this morning over the roads the pro's will do this afternoon. Will take the kids and go watch at the finishline here in Ghent. Stopped racing 17 years ago but still, this "opening classic" (Omloop Het Nieuwsblad" gives me goosebumps.

  • It's on Eurosport here in Hong Kong.

    Sounds like Rob Hatch.

  • Caved and bought a cycling TV subscription. I suppose it's up to the fans to create a legitimate demand.

  • Wiggins looks like he's working for Stannard.

Couple of big pulls on the front. Gap has come down plenty.

Cross words between Marcus Burghardt and Luke Rowe in the bunch.

  • Eating sausages and mash watching it in Italian, feel dirty

  • You mean just like he said he would yesterday? Funny that.

  • Didn't see that. Rob Hatch said Sky had talked about Wiggins as if he would be the leader today.

Think this may have been discussed before but why doesn't Hatch do more on Eurosport? He's so much better than Kirby at identifying riders and pronouncing them. Plus much better knowledge and insight.

  • Coffee, sarnies and Dutch, perfectly good on ProCycling live. Will have a beer for a more authentic viewing experience soon.

  • Lots of riders swerving past parked cars, trees and pedestrians to move up the bunch of the footpath.

    Looks properly dangerous.

  • ProCycling live

^ this. Better than the feed direct from the Sporza site for some reason.
