if you want to avoid 30mm axle and keep using it in the same setup then Rotor 3D24 otherwise 3Dplus/SRAM BB30 and get rid of praxis sleeves
I'd go with 24mm axle to keep things cheap as they work like any shimano cranksets.

WKO may be for winners. Windows, however, is not.

There is a spreadsheet that details watts per kilo against effort duration against rider category. You can use it to get a feel for how far on / off your power is against where you want to be. It's useful for brute force stuff such as is my 1 minute power in the same category as my FTP , how do I stack up against other Cat 3 riders, how puny am I in comparison with Elite, etc.
I'd attach it, but I'm at work, yo.

or the chart of disappointment where the effect of weight on relative performance becomes hideously apparent.
FTP due later this week - might 'forget' to update to winter weight.....

I've put on 2kg, somehow.
It's mauled my numbers.
FFS etc

As evidenced but your success at using a Mac to get anything power related done...

Here it is

From the chart I can conclude that in order to make progress, I should have a sex change.

I need more Wanks per kg.

After I undergo my transformation you will have plenty to fantasize about during said wanks

How well does an hours XC race at absolute max equate to FTP?
20minute FTP HR average 175bpm - approx. steady state
65 minute XC race HR average 179bpm - 6x max HR (190), lowest HR 172 -

PM me the pics.
-
• #3914
Yeah. Even with a favourable Euro it's still out of reach for P2M.
-
• #3915
apples and oranges - you can't compare HR to power - at least without knowing what power you put out for a given HR and even that is wildly variable.

Being below untrained for 5s/1m power is rather depressing (but these are taken from laps of RP not a proper test protocol). Mid-untrained for 5m/FT though and those are trending up towards Cat 5. It is no great surprise to me that I tend towards endurance stuff.
Cat 4 is the first major goal and, luckily, the required figures at my target weight don't scare me (an FTP of 236W).

The question is which is how well an hours XC racing equates to a 20minute FTP as a testing regime. HR just to illustrate the intensity.
-
• #3918
ah that makes a bit more sense then.
I seem to recall there being something in the Coggan/Allen book about the demands of XC races.
I would think that your normalised power (not average) for the 65mins should be close to your FTP
I presume you mean CP20 (which is then used to extrapolate FTP) rather than 20min FTP - FTP being the average power for ~1hr
-
• #3919
Yeah that's it. Will look it up.
Looks like the motivation of XC racing allows me to hold a higher intensity for longer => Black Park this Sunday.
-
• #3920
Possibly as it's a less constant effort?
It'll give you the most accurate ftp for xc riding. For the road or turbo it'll probably differ and the only way to know is to test.

I found an hours CX equated pretty well to my steady state FTP

"the seven deadly sins....
...er, ways of determining your functional threshold power (roughly in order of increasing certainty):
1) from inspection of a ride file.
2) from power distribution profile from multiple rides.
3) from blood lactate measurements (better or worse, depending on how it is done).
4) based on normalized power from a hard ~1 h race.
5) using critical power testing and analysis.
6) from the power that you can routinely generate during long intervals done in training.
7) from the average power during a ~1 h TT (the best predictor of performance is performance itself).Note the key words "hard", "routinely", and "average" in methods 4, 6 and 7..."

So who wants to share what their typical L R balance is? Did a 20 min test today and typically hovered around 45 55 towards my right leg. This normal?
-
• #3925
From my p2m (so interpolated l r balance) I am slightly left dominant at ftp 50.5 vs 49.5 which is interesting as I always thought my right leg was stronger (as it LOOKS stronger/more developed than my left)
45 55 sounds like quite a big difference though...
Yeah, that's the one.
TP offers a free 7 day premium trial - so I would do that first if I were you to make sure you get on with it.
