60cm Raleigh Dyna-tech bike (2060/531 tubing)

Posted on
  • Hi all

We have here a partially complete Raleigh Dyna-tech 500 (1991 I think), 60cm Seattube. 56.8cm top tube. Think these are all as-spec/original components.

Bought this with the intention of running it fixed, as it has semi horizontal drops, but we didn't really get on (I'm a bit too lanky I think). As others have said here it's 'zippy' - very racey. Not for me! Anyway, hopefully one of you will enjoy it and they certainly have a following... Lovely to look at and nice n light!

    So, we've got:

Frame - 2060 Dyna-tech steel, equiv to 531 (decent nick, no bumps, splits, dings. A few small marks, as expected. I've ridden it a few times and the joins all seem secure- though do satisfy yourself)
    Forks - Cro-Mo
    Headset - Shimano RX 100
Bottom bracket - looks to be the original Shimano, but unsure (can check the markings)
Brake levers & calipers - Shimano RX 100 SLX (lever hoods show slight yellowing, but a half arsed clean up brightened them up, so you might have some more luck here. Slight fraying around the edge of one)
    Stem - Black Custom
    Bars - Sakae (a few scratches/rubs)
Seatpost - Dyna-Tech branded (insertion marks)
Seat - Selle Italia Expedia (Decent nick, but rubbing around the front of the rails)
    Chain - ??
Wheelset - RX 100 hubs, Alesa rims (back is fine, front needs slight true)

As I say, I had to plan to run it fixed and had lined up a fixed wheelset with Omega Mach1 rims, black hubs n spokes. Shout if you'd rather pay a bit of extra ££ for these instead and I can pop the RX/Alesa's elsewhere on the forum. Otherwise, add some mechs/shifters/cranks and you're away!

I may have the pedals and some DT shifters knocking around if you're keen.

Don't really want to split, unless I get a decent offer for F&F/HS/BB or the wheelset.

Collect from Willesden Green/West Hampstead/Kilburn, or meet somewhere around Baker St/on the Overground/District/Circle for a beer or two.

    Was £100, now ... SOLD

  • That's a very good condition dynatech, they have a habit if corroding where the rear seat stats attach, that example looks perfect. And the colour's original too :)

    Glwts

  • They can't be resprayed professionally as the heat unbonds the joins.
lovely bike, I had a 700 for a while, fantastic bikes. GLWS

  • Thanks both! Yeah, they do seem a bit special and this one looks to have had a relatively easy life.

  • Any interest? Will throw in the pedals or knock a fiver off - your choice!

  • Open to offers guys... Happy to sell without the wheels if that helps.

  • Wonderful frame, and a great price. Wish I was young enough to justify buying it myself.

  • @Patrick47 Most kind. Yes, very nippy!

I can probably build this up as a complete bike with a Shimano 600 crankset and some mechs from the bits box if someone was interested. As above, offers welcome.

  • Price drop bump - now £90

  • Pm'd
