Basically stop by a pub to be warned the next hill is steep, this guy walks down he has no brakes and first ride fixed (muppet)
Then next hill little less steep so he tries to go down, i'm talking to object17/emily and he yells "get out the way" way too late hits me, emily and clips mike
So then emily land in the side of the road on some leaves - knee in a bad way
I land on the road - same knee and hand in a bad way
Man - on the floor in pain - cut on his face>pretty cool story bro

great read
Despite the fact I had a grandfather come back (just) from each of the great world wars, and both of them told me not to waste my time 'remembering' something I played no part in, today has become a day of remembrance for me in the context of the forum.
It was 5 years ago today we embarked on what has become something of a legendary ride, and I'm glad many of us are still in contact, loosely or otherwise.
Amazing seeing people from this ride yesterday at my book launch (the ride is vaguely alluded to in the text), including hippy, d0cA, dave4, Tommy (the brick), and I'm probably forgetting others - there were certainly a few who couldn't make it due to being far away in one sense or another.
Lots of water under the bridge since then, or tarmac under the rubber if you prefer. Hopefully plenty more to come, and loads of it on fixed gear...
