  • You're right, you can't... I think it should've been a yellow, in the circumstances, but the ref was in full dick-swinging mode... In essence, the referee got it wrong and when the FA had a chance to make amends by charging Barnes with dangerous play they chose not to...

It stinks and makes me so angry because Matic could so easily have joined the ranks of players whose careers have been cut short by some neanderthal who doesn't even deserve to be on the same pitch...

  • Euro sheets? We soiled everything...

Isn't there an argument that it would wander into officiating after the final whistle? Where would the line be drawn? The outcome doesn't feel right given the victim misses a cup final but we all know you can't react like that. Rather than going to some faceless FA panel afterwards wouldn't the better bet to use the current technology that is used to beat refs be given to the refs? How can you have a situation where we get sometimes 9 replays before the commentary can come to a conclusion and the official gets ONE shot, real time, from ONE angle?

Still it was a horrible horrible challenge...Reminds me of Ramires at Villa. I can't remember if TSO did any special interviews or even acknowledgement. Dyche has a point about the lack of reaction from anyone at the scene. You can normally tell when something is genuinely up but there was nothing there [apart from Matic], hence the ref missing it?
