How much you pay will depend on your age, hobbies, medical history and how much you want it to pay out. £500k cover for a self-employed, one-armed 75 year old tree surgeon who smokes 40 a day and goes base-jumping will be dearer than £50k cover for a 20 year old nun.
Yes, it will cover being run over, unless you're run over competing in sidecar racing and you didn't get cover for your sidecar racing hobby.
