Anyone ever had trouble with aliexpress? skeptical that it doesn't use paypal..

Nope - its fine, payment is made to aliexpress who hold the payment until the goods are delivered/time limit has expired and only then forward it to the seller, so its very biased towards the buyer and very easy to get refund etc if an item doesn't arrive/is damaged/not as described.
