I just watched the highlights of the Saffa in Andalucia.
I bloody love bicycle racing when it's good.

Pete gets extra style points for climbing in the drops like errm, you know, that guy.
-

Porte finishing strongly in the Algarve too. The Sly train might be next level once you factor Konig in.

Sky = Freudian slip

Porte was nowhere in the time trial though. Hard to see him beating Contador at the Giro. If Contador doesn't develop a mysterious injury in late April, that is.
It was great to see again just how brilliant a climber Froome is, and how he is willing to attack. I still don't see why a very mountainous Tour is somehow meant to be a disadvantage for him. Shame Quintana was not there too. -

Talking about Porte as a super domestique rather than a GT contender.

The curse of the Haut Var strikes again, Danish team Cult Energy's truck broken into overnight and all their bikes have been stolen.
It's becoming an annual tradition.

Lobato is starting to look like the real deal.

• #362
How do you sell team bikes though?

Russia had the last lot for sale

Whilst an interesting read, I think it's cowardly that he calls out riders for being disrespectful when he himself hides behind a cloak of anonymity.
I hope a lot of the peloton know who he is, even if we don't.
-
• #367
Isn't the point that he's anon so he CAN call out people without being ejected from the peloton? ala whistle blowing. He's hardly going to sabotage his own racing just to unload a bit of gossip for us.
-
• #368
I thought exactly the same. He comes across as a bit of a bore. I'll bet riders have always claimed that the next generation 'has no respect'.
-
• #369
Nacer Bouhanni though...
Great on a bike but not at the dinner table please.

So there is a 100k women's Strade Bianche happening this year. Vos and Armitstead will be riding.
-
• #371
E3 Harelbeke WTF are you thinking with your advertising??
-
• #372
Strade Bianche news a refreshing counterpoint to ^ that shit
-
• #373
Surely it should be easy to single him out just by elimination?
He's often quite explicit about the races he does, so you first narrow it down by teams and then by rider. Bit of work, but I think many of the start lists get published in an easily c&p-able format. :)
-
• #374
If you went back through all the races he's mentioned riding I think that there would be a very small list of potential candidates. I'm not going to do it though.
If it were me, and I wanted to stay anonymous I'd throw in a couple of deliberate red herrings to throw the scent off. Or recruit a small group of riders to provide stories and have someone ghost write it as if they were one person.

E3 Harelbeke
Belgian farmers.
No one gave a shit about adverts from previous years'.. cycling, you've changed.
Best finish Eva on today's tour of Andaloosia. Genuine edge of the seat stuff glad that lanky Italian lad didn't make it, sat on for ages.
