  • anyone have any strong feelings one way or another in relation to EBB's chime in whenever

If you're using rim brakes then a BB30 > EBB will give you a quick fix way of adjusting the chain tension without having to readjust your brakes. But I guess adjusting chain tension from the BB is always a bit trickier, plus if you're using a BB30/similar shell, then doesn't it work like an expander, giving it the potential to work loose? Also can you do it with the cranks on?

Bc of those questions and Bc you're after discs, paragon-style rocker dropouts make more sense to me generally, but even more so if you're making a choice from scratch.... Rather than say SS'ing a BB30 CX frame.

  • This is my buddy's 'pub bike'....

I've told him to sell it to someone who will appreciate it...

  • @cornelius_blackfoot Triton are on public holidays until Jan 12th.

  • A vote for Triton, really clever chaps and good prices too, I toyed with the idea a few times

  • thanks for that, I've done a bit of googling and it seems you are correct in that sliding dropouts are a bit of faff if you're working with mudguards, which I will be and rocker dropouts would give you the chain tension and the ability to drop a wheel in and out without too much effort..

  • Here's my Burls. Looking forward to riding it again when the weather gets nice.

Probably treating myself to some silly wheels this year too.

  • There is also cielorossobikes.com/cielo-rosso-cĀustom-built-titanium-frames-601-p.asp

who maybe cheaper and are based in the UK.>

  • Paragon Machine Works toggle drops?

    So many parts though:

  • designed for belt drive I think, and not really looking for quick release on this bike

    more info here

  • @cornelius_blackfoot I'm getting rocker dropouts on my new frame, it's being shipped next week, exciting! I had paragon sliders on the polo frame Trition made, they were a pain. Rockers look easier to align.

  • So I'm considering going for titanium.

I've looked at Lynskey, Van Nicholas, etc and have read over this post but am still undecided (don't want to remortgage but don't mind paying a 'fair price').

Lynskey seem to be great value (lots on Chain Reaction etc) but not entirely sure.

    Views?

  • I got a Lynskey Sportive Disc a little under a year ago and have loved it, and still love it. It is comfortable, quicker than me, I think looks nice, easy to clean, has all the eyelets. What can I tell you?

Things that I might have done differently

    1. I have discs with QR. That is going to look very dated in a few years I suspect
    2. I went for a cable, 10 speed groupset. I probably should have gone electronic and hydraulic from the start
    3. My Lynskey has the rear hanger as part of the frame. I guess that might be silly.

Lynskey have a good set of model comparison videos to help choose from their range.

I was also very tempted by some of the enigma bikes.

  • I watched over this in the Charles Lamb the other day. Nice bike.

  • Here is my Ti Gazelle in Margate a long time ago...build has changed quite a bit since. Will post a more recent shot soon!

  • @mattyc - Lindsey is looking pretty as always!

  • Almost up-to-date in this one

  • My Dedacciai K-19 winter bike...

  • Here's my Triton Custom 29er which I'll be racing on Tour Divide this June

  • Only a few more bits needed before I can get this built up:

  • I have log-pile envy.

  • Whats wrong with the White industries eccentric hub? [I have no idea what you're building or what you want.]

  • Big up to the peeps at Cycle PS for letting me use the tools I don't have. I've had this bike for an age but various issue with parts and getting it fully comfortable, it's finally getting close to done:

Once I've built up the original wheel for the track I'll get proper images of both Ti GT rides.

  • Some people find painted Ti distasteful but I love my one. Sprayed it on my own so it's more satisfying to own. Currently running with hope pro hubs on mavic open pros. Going to be getting some Ti headset just for the lolz and a grammo ahead... to keep it Ti-licious
Wouldn't mind a GT track frame.. **if I can ever find one my size...
