• While waiting for the wheels and these holidays to be over, I've realised I never took proper (!?) pictures of the bike in the sun.

Today was perfect for this, so I took some with my phone:

There are more in the flickr album here:

  • Btw it now has a nice pair of Gipiemme Special Pista with black Christophe cages and MKS NJS laminated straps.

Really can't wait to complete the wheelset.

  • It's looking good (turning a blind eye to the tyres - I know they're temporary). How much to you estimate the project to have cost, if you don't mind me asking?

  • Don't mind at all. Frameset and components costed me around £240 delivered.
Tubular rims £30, tyres less than that.

I got better hubs from Vince with spokes and crankset for £40, but I sold back the crankset for £15 (normal French threaded Gipiemme).
£20 for truing the front wheel and I guess same for the rear one.
Less than 10 for the tape.
    Don't remember the new pedals.

  • I had the saddle already.

  • What about the group-set, head-set and handlebars? Did that come with the frame-set then? It all sounds quite cheap considering the loveliness of the bike?

  • it was all cheap.
Frameset and all the components in those 240 :)

  • Very lucky indeed.

  • Thanks!

About to get the same, in a bit worse conditions, from an Italian forum for 40€ delivered.

Will keep an eye on this

  • Front wheel (Monthlery Pro tubular rim on Gipiemme Sprint hub) almost ready.
Here with the tyre on for the suggested 72hrs of stretching (following Continental Giro instructions leaflet's advice).

Can't wait to put it on the Moser and finish the rear one as well!

  • It does look cool, doesn't it?
@Scilly.Suffolk and @Breso will be happy to see there's no red.

Still waiting for the 72hrs (tomorrow night) to put up the glue.

  • Rear wheel will be built by Arup. The spokes I've got are black from the anodising which I can't seem to be able to remove. When that's done (one or two weeks time I guess), it'll be complete :)

  • Also got a proper saddle:

  • I'll also bring the rear wheel to Arup when he's done with the La Variable wheelset, then I'll only have to glue the Giro tubulars and finally it's complete!
So hang on a few more weeks, hopefully two more.

  • New wheel set up is proper. Almost done!

  • Almost done indeed!

  • There you have it, wheel set and I'm done!

  • Looks good, but i think the brake cables need shortening a bit.

  • I will swap left and right and shorten them indeed.

  • @Breso and others will probably disagree but I might make it look like the one attached.

  • Will keep it pink for a while though :)

  • By looking at the cable routings it seems like they are not the same bikes!

PS: agree, white is nice :)
