Bangor - advice needed..

A few friends and I are planning to ride from probably Newport, South Wales to Bangor, North Wales in two days one weekend soon.

We're going to be traveling light, staying in a BnB. We'd like to hit the biggest hills, best descents and any off roading bits - that can be done of road bikes - would be great.

The route I've worked out I've posted below, was wondering if anyone has done this route before, and if there are any roads we shouldn't miss/ any that we should.

Hi. I did a similar ride a couple of years ago, solo, over 3 days, staying in B & B's. Brilliant ride. I started further east in Chepstow. Lovely quiet roads north of there. I took in 2 of Wales' highest roads - Gospel Pass and Hell (!?) Pass above Bala. Wasn't that fit at the time so nearly killed me! Routes are here:
