  • Cheers @mdcc_tester and @umop3pisdn , Perth in Aus has a pretty big Giant following. PX might be harder to access.

I have managed to find a Cervelo P2C on gumtree around my size, hopefully it'll stay on the market for a bit until I find out my TT sizing at the physio bikefit I have booked in early March. Any thoughts on the one linked or are the newer Giant frames/finishing kit better specced? I'd be looking at Flo wheels if I go for the Cervelo.

  • Thanks, @Soul and @aggi - I ended up grabbing these from Argos: http://www.amazon.co.uk/Sony-DR-BTN200-Bluetooth-Headphones-Smartphones-Black/dp/B00BG95U5O

I may still grab the £20 jobbies for the summer, though. I find over-ear in the winter are nice, but in sweaty ears is not a good feeling.

  • They look pretty good for the price.

The £20 ones are great for the price. I can throw them around and not worry if they break etc.

  • Yeah, true. I go through corded head phones way too quickly, so it's good to have a back up (but it's usually the cable that goes from it getting bent in my pocket).

  • Cheap traditional bend road handlebars ?

  • Cheap traditional bend road handlebars ?

How traditional do you want them? If you just want a round bend, Pro PLT is reasonably priced, but it's a modern small radius round bend, not a copy of something from the 1970s.

Deda Speciale is even cheaper if you're looking for a truly classic 26.0mm silver bar. Also in 26.0/silver there are the Cinelli re-issue 64 Giro d'Italia and 65 Criterium at under £40

  • About 80/85mm reach and 130/140mm drop. Deda looks like the ticket if only they were black and oversized ..

  • In relation to London if someone said "Town" would you understand where they were referring to, and if so where would they mean?

  • @hugo7 anywhere really, the word before town could help a bit so "up town" atleast for friends of mine would be west endish and "down town" while doing some sort of hand movements is probably a euphemism, "into town" generally anywhere within the square mile.

  • Deda newton shallow or ritchey neoclassic

  • Do you know any bars that are OS along the entire bar?
    Selcof KP06, Pro Sprint, ???

  • Do you know any bars that are OS along the entire bar?

Pro Vibe are 31.8mm out to the first bend, same as the Selcof.

  • How easy is it to fit two bike bags in a Ford C Max - there will be 1 driver & 1 passenger.

  • If they just said "town" as in "going into town" I'd assume central/Oxford/Soho/etc.. I've probably said this myself (although not commonly). If they said "London town," all bets are off.

  • In relation to London if someone said "Town" would you understand where they were referring to, and if so where would they mean?

Where were they starting from? It's different for country people, for whom 'Town' is anywhere in Greater London. I can be in the London Borough of Hillingdon and tell people I'm heading into town, meaning anywhere in the Cities of Westminster and London. Somebody in Mayfair who is heading into town is going to the Square Mile.

  • Where were they starting from?

    London. Not greater London though.

Basically my girl friend and I have a sort of ongoing argument / discussion on this.

She doesn't believe it's a used term for the West End/Central London. I think it is relative to the context, but usually means the West End. Ie "i need to go to town to buy x".

Basically I wanted to check if it was recognise by anyone else.

  • I would have thought you can fit at least 20 bike bags in a C Max.

If you put bikes in them then two would be your limit. Seriously, I've had two bikes in the back of a focus with no problems. You might like to take padding for the stickyout bits.

  • I think it is relative to the context, but usually means the West End. Ie "i need to go to town to buy x"

Yes, it's the West End if you're going to buy something at retail, but it's traditionally the City if you're going to work. Of course, now that the hedgies and private equity managers have taken over Mayfair & St. James', the meaning of 'town' has drifted too. If you're going out in the evening, you don't go to town, you go 'up West', even if you have to travel east to get there.

  • If it's Oxford or Cambridge, it means 'not gown'. :)

  • If you put bikes in them then two would be your limit.

This works for me - Cheers.

  • Just bought a new frame compatible with a PF86 bottom bracket.

What are my best options considering I'm building it with a Shimano groupset?

  • What are my best options considering I'm building it with a Shimano groupset?

    Have you considered a Shimano BB, e.g. SM-BB92 ?

Or SM-BB71 if DuraAce is too expensive :-)

  • Thanks that seems perfect

  • How can you tell if your hub bearings are...in need of service?

Just gave the wheel a spin and heard a kinda 'woooosh' sound which is new. Am i being paranoid or do the bearings need a service?
