The wooded pond with pylon is my favourite I think. Also like Tina's stripes.

Thanks all.
Yea I did indeed wait for the bird to go more in the periphery of the frame, haha
(it took a while, as it was squally as fuck yesterday.. well, might have stamped it in post just as well I guess).May be a dumb question, but is it obvious what those "stripes" actually are?

After shooting over 90% of my personal stuff on film the last three years, I'm doing more digital now.
Still have to remind myself that it's ok to push the button more often, as it's "free" now.
The thing that really baffles me is how different colours are (not just in my digital pictures, in others' as well) -
they are no longer coined by the specific "character" of the particular film material (so, in other words, they're freed from this really, which basically must be a good thing).
But I don't know, I can shoot nice stuff in nice light on digital, and still it looks "dead".
This has a lot to do with the colours, I think.
Digital's more exact / neutral colours should, in theory, be closer to how you perceive the world around you - but to me it really isn't. It's weird. -

Accuracy is quite boring looking. I'm pretty sure our minds do a bit of post-processing on the way we remember things too so I think its just a case of digital stuff needing more work to get a final result that has some more character. Without overdoing it.
Just VSCO everything ;)

It's not obv to me, was going to ask...

Just to be clear, I was not thinking in categories like 'interesting' or 'boring' -
more like: I perceive digital images as being more artificial, though their colours are more 'true' to life the images somehow feel more artificial to me - and also 'empty', though this discussion of digital being "soulless" is not one I want to start again (ok maybe I do).Merely talking about the colours, it made me wonder.
VSCOing all the things would add some "character", yes, but it would remain artificial.
Of course I post a lot of digital images, and emphasise this, or numb down that - and you can do this very, very well, and create stunning images - but it will always look "edited", and that's not what I'm after.
My point being you can do a lot of impressing shit in post, but you can't put something in there afterwards what hasn't been captured in the first place, I guess. -

Sooo... I've got a budget of £700-800 to spend on glass as a company expense. Need a sanity check on this plan.
I'm thinking of getting the 35mm f/2 IS for general use, low-light stuff (which is most jobs), wider portraits etc as well as video and supplement it with the 85 1.8.
The X100 has been my 35mm equiv camera but I could really use the IS and extra speed of the Canon version, tbh.Or just get the 135 f2 L.

..never used the 35mm in question, but would definately buy the 85 / 1.8 if you have need for that focal length.
It's an awesome lens for £250, image quality is very nice, and it focuses almost instantly - wish my Nikon was that quick.. -

Was lucky to stumble upon Paragliding last week, with my dslr.

Really like the third one. Would love to give that a go...
@tina.kino I regularly borrow an 85mm and yeah, the thing is fast as shit. I might just get the 135L... The X100 can be my 35mm lens.
There's also the sigma art 50mm. -

Ha! Clear as mud. Really lovely images, really intriguing. But I have to look long and hard and even then I only get a vague impression of what they actually are.
