I think the lack of change in ergonomics and looks points to the robustness of the design - If only Ricoh could make it perform a little better in low light/action situations.
I love mine, even the 28mm which almost made me not buy it.
I find cropping still leaves enough info to make pics that please me.

@h2o definitely want to have a play with one, kind of want one camera to rule them all, so I'd probably ship the GR on to a good home.
@withered_preacher Yep GR digital series, think mine was the 2 or 3 which I got after fucking the lens on my previous one. I know they've come out with newer versions, but they look identical so it somehow doesn't feel like a new camera.
