  • When did it become Mau Mau? I thought the consensus was he would be Moo Poo.

  • The Craig Bryson version of that chant is horrendous.

Apparently, because he's Scottish, he likes haggis and washes it down with Jäger. Come on, Jäger? If we're going to have a bit of a stereotype chant for one of our own players, They should've used Buckfast, Super T or Irn-Bru.

  • Waiting for the Mau Mau Uprising...

  • @chalfie, no one complained when I was calling Andre Villas-Boas, AVB, if I'm going to be using someone's name a lot of times I reserve the right to shorten, and/or give them a nickname to make it more fun to do so.

In terms of my name, you should be saying Corny, rather than my given name, since I don't use that on here, and I have no problems with people shortening it from Cornelius Blackfoot to Corny. That's what people do.

If you have an issue with those who are currently battering to death the two letter abbreviation, the band wagon jumpers, the it's a laugh because it winds @chalfie up, the I don't know why I'm doing it but everyone else is, then I would say you need to take it up with them.

  • I'm taking it up with you because you, even though you claim not to, started it.
And you continue it. And I'm not sure Mau Mau is culturally sensitive really.
IF, by your logic: I'm going to be using someone's name a lot of times I reserve the right to shorten, and/or give them a nickname to make it more fun to do so.

Then I reserve the right to shorten the nickname I choose to give you.

  • Because, by you using the continued shorthand non funny abbreviations/acronyms you're using, you're helping perpetuate and give merit to those who are jumping on it because they don't know why.
    So.
That's why I'm taking it up with you.
And also. It makes good bantz on a Friday.

  • C'mon. I "wrote" two versions of a chant about you. Shurely you can tell I'm not entirely serious about this?

  • @Chalfie, what nickname have you chosen to give to me? the one where you shorten my real name on an internet forum, which I have chosen, as we all have, to use a pseudonym so as not to use my real name?

  • @chalfie,

    did enjoy the chants...

  • Maybe Mauricio would like to have had a pseudonym given to him before you shortened that. Eh. Think of Mauricio Pochettino. The real victim of this.

  • A surprisingly accurate prediction from me regarding last nights game. I'm shocked

  • ok, #Chalfie, edit his real name, #CoBl, get over yrself.

  • No one cares, Mike...

  • #CoBlers, this I can get behind...

  • pwned

  • @kl, get over what? I don't use my real name on here, I don't expect others to, even when they know me in real life? Why don't you use your real name as your name?

@chalfie, like Lloyd Grossman, I will cogitate about a new way of naming our venerable coach..

  • Mike, they probably got their tickets off touts and, anyway, Hitler was worse.

  • @cornelius_blackfoot Venerables hasn't been coach of Spurs for years.

  • OK back to Chelsea then

    independent.co.uk/sport/football/news-and-comment/more-chelsea-fans-arrested-for-racist-chants-than-any-other-premier-league-club-home-office-stats-reveal-10056572.html

The game is over. 28 arrests in 13 years. Endemic. That is almost, but not quite, 1:500,000 on the basis that the average gate at home games over those 13 years has been over 40,000 and there have been around 30 games a season.

That said, Stoke have achieved 26 of a far smaller attendance base.

Possibly, Chelsea and Stoke are better stewarded and have supporters more likely to decry such behaviour than other clubs.

All in all one of the most meaningless statistics that has ever been posted on here and, believe me, there have been some very meaningless statistics on here.

  • @Chalfie, Henceforth I will be calling Mauricio Pochettino the Sheriff, the nickname he was given when he played for Espanyol. I reserve the right to create a new one, steal one from someone else, or keep making puns around Pooch, Tino, Rico etc...

Now go back to berating someone else I've got the internet to scour...

  • Joking aside @CoBlers has a point about his real name. Public internet forum banter, Google, and a professional life don't mix well.

  • Bristol Rovers and Leicester City. #Winningtheracism 13/14
