  • It was nice of him/her to bring you two. So often, I have found, I finish one packaged duck tongue and am dying for a second only to realize I didn't have the foresight to buy two.

  • bad luck to give one. or suttin.

  • In that case Olly should have been given 8.

  • She actually gave me about 20. Might need to share them round the office...

  • What will you tell people they are?

  • Special Chinese New Year sweeties of course.

  • lucky red packets!

  • What will you tell people they are?

"Here eat these. They taste good."

  • Last night I had spaghetti cacio e pepe (Pecorino Romano & black pepper) served in a bowl made of crispy baked cheese.

    Amazing.

Today, a buffet lunch and great pizza for tea.

Only two more mealtimes left in Rome, I might try and fit in three or four more meals.

  • I ordered duck tongues in Chinatown once, alcohol may have had something to do with it. I got a massive plate piled up with them and I think I ate one to prove I could, and then ate another to show I wasn't just going to eat one.

In this correspondent's opinion, they are pretty fucking horrible. They look exactly like they look when you feed bread to ducks on the river, and they have a bone in the middle like a lolly stick.

  • Any tips for great barbecue (US style) books? There seen to be loads to choose from, need some help... From beginner to expert kinda thing...

  • Pittcue one is actually the dogs bollx. Seen it in TKMaxx a few times too. #knowyoulovethatshit
Other one I have is called How to Grill by Steve Raichlen. It's good, bit 'murican (i.e. every recipe starts with a page on how to light the fookin bbq...) but it covers a lot. How can you argue with a bloke that looks like this?

  • Cheers, Olly... I'll look into it... I don't wanna be a graphic designer anymore... I wanna learn how to make Southern style BBQ, it would go a bomb in Brisbane...

  • did you chaps see john torode's travels around Argentina, searching for the perfect asado?

    a-fucking-mazing

  • a bowl made of crispy baked cheese.

this needs more recognition....do you have pics?! Sounds a-fucking-mazing!

  • I think they made that in the Fellini-style Rome episode of No Reservations. I remember it looking rad, but I can't find a clip online. At any rate full on jealous of @tommmmmmm.

  • I've watched most of those Munchies shorts, I hate Vice but I think those films (and a lot of their current affairs stuff) is bloody excellent... The Irene Peralta in the Basque country is fab, Action Bronson's show, that Canadian dude, I could go on...

  • I did... Mind... Blown...

And I fucking hate that guy...

  • I didn't take a picture myself because I didn't want to be 'that guy', but there's a great photo on the restaurant's website:

  • The noodles didn't have oxtail with them, I think that's another of their specialities.

I also had courgette flowers for the first time there, it was one of the only places that didn't do them with anchovies in, and they were amazing too.

  • yus... #rep
    oh man
