Had a play with a X100S the other day.
I'm not in the market for a camera like this, but was very curious still, seing how Fuji managed to get such a overwhelming response to their recent cameras - and of course seing images from the X100 series cameras and really loving the colours / being quite impressed with image quality in general.I read about how beautifully made it is, but really my first impression was that it does feel somewhat dinky. Didn't like holding it in my hands, basically, I don't know - the way it feels / the size and feel of the dials and buttons.. just didn't like this at all.
I guess my point being: image quality is great, but if you come from a "true" 35mm film rangefinder then better go hold it in your hands and see if you like it.
I'm thinking of getting a Fuji X100s, it was praised highly by a cameraman friend of mine because of its ability to mimic old fuji slide film, as I'm shooting 35mm E6 on an old rangefinder, and I think I'd like to get it to replace my Ricoh GR.
Anyone got one and like/love it? Anyone got one to sell for small beer? (cheeky I know) Anyone have any shots they've taken with it, which show how good/bad it is?
Let me know.
Should just say all the reviews I've seen online are of the "I love this camera so much, its a step forward from the X100, which was also a great but quirky camera" variety, so I'm probably looking for a bit more affirmation, before I stump up the cash...
